Characters and Dialogue

I’m a huge believer in creating strong characters and unique dialogue. I started a post today about writing unique dialogue for your main character when a friend asked me if I’d heard the latest Scriptnotes – a podcast by screenwriters John August and Craig Mazin. (I’ll eventually finish the post – the info in this edition of Scriptnotes is simply brilliant and must be heard!)   John August has a huge resume that includes Corpse Bride, Dark Shadows and the soon to be released Frankenweenie. Craig Mazin has an impressive resume himself – Scary Movie 3 and 4 to name a few, and more recently – The Hangover part II and III.
The most recent Scriptnotes focuses on characters and dialogue and even has a few tests to see if the dialogue in your script is working. I highly recommend you take a listen to this informative and entertaining podcast – you can download it free on iTunes or listen to it on John’s website by clicking here.
