How to write a CV / screenwriter’s resume

I thought I had a good CV until I sent it to a friend who is a networking and marketing wiz. Turns out it would better be used as toilet paper. Not the content, but the way it was put together.  A quick Google search gave me more info than I needed and a working writer’s CV as an example that helped so much!

I’m not going to pretend I know how to write a CV now, but I’ll post the links that helped me hammer mine into shape.  The advice from the friend was to include my Linkedin link and links to samples of my work, including this blog. This way they get a sense of who you are, not just what you’ve done.

Hope this helps!!

Bang 2 write offers helpful hints to screenwriters and novelists (ya, I lifted that from their header.)  If you’ve never written a CV or resume before, make sure you read this post FIRST! Font type to number of pages – it’s all here. Check it out!

Here’s the link to writer/producer Erik Bork, the screenwriter who wrote multiple episodes of HBO’s  BAND OF BROTHERS and FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON. Honestly, seeing a working writer’s CV helped me the most.  Erik’s blog is a treasure chest of information and I highly recommend you check out the whole site!
